Who We Are?
Shahram Boroumand (Shah) moved to the United States from Germany in 2002, bringing with him a new standard of care for scoliosis patients in the Bay Area.
The Schroth Method, a widely popular and proven technique for treating scoliosis patients in Europe, is now gaining momentum locally. Shah receives referrals from physical therapists across the region and many medical doctors, who recommend this conservative, exercise-based program for their patients.
The Schroth Method is the standard non-surgical treatment for scoliosis in Germany and throughout much of Europe. Shah learned and was trained in the Schroth Method in 1995 as part of his physical therapy program in Germany. In addition, he received Schroth-certification at the Asklepios Katharina Schroth Klinik in 2013. He has been treating scoliosis patients since 1998.
Shah’s belief in the efficacy of the Schroth Method extends beyond his practice. In addition to sharing the Schroth Method with his patients, Shah has developed and teaches the “Complete Scoliosis Program” of self-corrective exercises for scoliosis patients to other therapists and chiropractors. He also hosts free lectures to the general public to raise awareness of the Schroth technique. His hope is that one day this great technique will become nationally available and covered by the insurance companies, just like it is in Germany.
